To engage local choreographers, performance artists, and live
performance makers in creating site-specific work in non-traditional
spaces that is free to all.
Grass Stains will help these participating artists hone their skills
in site-specific performance, as well as provide them with
marketing/promotional, administrative, mentoring support, and a commission/artist fee of $5,000.00.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO APPLY?
South Florida-based CHOREOGRAPHERS, PERFORMANCE ARTISTS, and
OTHER LIVE PERFORMANCE MAKERS (where movement is the dialogue between
artist and space).
Emerging / Mid-Career PROFESSIONAL artists / South Florida Residents.
INDIVIDUALS. Have a dance company? That’s great – you can feel free
to use them, but you will be commissioned as an individual, not a
company. If you work collaboratively, you may bring in your
collaborators to create, but you are the Grass Stains artist.
An artist who is OPEN TO EXPERIENCE.
You must have an interest in site-specific work – you do not need prior experience necessarily.
A Grass Stains participant MUST be in attendance for the Miami workshop with Stephan Koplowitz: May 21-25, 2018.
By submitting a Grass Stains application, you agree to participating
fully in the program, including adhering to all deadlines and backend
planning prior to your premieres.
